Welcome to the Columbus Rescue Mission!

Some of you received an e-mail from us on 8-10-10 that said, ”I need your help” and you did.  I am so glad that I am not in this ministry alone. Many of you have poured out an extra gift to the Columbus Rescue Mission to help us through these lean times. First and above all we trust God, and His promise to provide all our needs as we declare His Word to the poor. I am fully aware of our partners in ministry that come to the aid of those who suffer.  It has been a long summer with less income, and we still have bills that need to be paid. Please pray! WANT TO HELP?

We are pursuing ways that will help us avoid shortfalls in the future. God willing, we are planning a fireworks stand next year and another mission gave us a clothing baler so we can bale and sell clothing that is not fit to give away. Praise the Lord! WANT TO HELP?

I believe we have the best food of any Mission in the world. Some of it comes from wonderful men & women who have the gift of cooking for a group. Some of it comes from wonderful cooking establishments that provide meals for the mission! WANT TO HELP?

We try not to let anyone come through our doors without hearing about Jesus. We have many people who teach the Bible at morning devotions, morning disciple classes, and Evening Chapels. Do you have the gift of teaching God’s Word? WANT TO HELP?

We have a group of people who serve Jesus by going to the county jails to teach God’s Word to those who have no faith, or misplaced faith. On Saturday, September 18^th, we are having training for Jail Ministry. If you think you would be interested, contact us. WANT TO HELP?

There is a group of men and women who serve the missions by being on the Board of Directors. These are people that love Jesus and His Word and are committed to keeping us a GOSPEL Rescue Mission. They either don’t drink or have been willing to give up drinking while they serve on the Board. This authority is just one of God’s protections over me. WANT TO HELP?

We have a committee that helps us hold a golf fundraiser. Some people come and golf and many of you help by sponsoring a hole. This would be a good time, if you have a business to put the golf fundraiser in your 2011 budget. WANT TO HELP?

The Columbus Sears Hometown Store is pleased to announce that on Saturday, September 18th, Sears will donate 3% of all sales to the Columbus Rescue Mission. This sale is exclusive to the Columbus Sears Hometown Store. WANT TO HELP?

P.S. This year’s winner of the Traveling Church Trophy is TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH COLUMBUS! The players on the team were Rich Aerni, Keith Gilmore, Dan Pennington and Dean Chesley. The winners of the Open Division of play were: GENOA NATIONAL BANK, players Brad Wieck, Gabe Stadler, Russ Blaha, and Todd Halligan. The other winners are the guests of the Columbus Rescue Mission!
